Aaron Renfree is part of the wonderful cast and very well known for his former work with S CLUB 8 a spin off of the very popular UK band S CLUB 7. Being known for his dance he has made a natural progression into choreography having the chance to work with some of the UK’s top Performer/Choreographers! He is one to watch out for!
AARON RENFREETell me how and when your career began.Well I was always singing and dancing from a young age, especially when I heard music or I was watching someone performing on the TV. So my parents asked if I wanted to go to a stage school every Saturday to train. Then at the age of 10 I got my 1st job in Oliver which toured the UK and then I did local shows and pantos until I got my 1st big break at 13 when I got into a band called s club juniors. We had 6 top 10 singles, 2 albums, toured the UK, our own TV show and release the soundtrack to follow. That lasted for 4 years and then I went back to college to train for 3 years in musical theatre. Now I have graduated I'm in flashdance the musical which is touring the UK till summer 2009.
What is your career highlight?Probably performing as an artist at Wembley arena in front of thousands of people. Also being on Top Of The Pops
What makes a good performer and what as helped you sustain your career?A good performer is someone who's unique and knows their trade well. I think it’s important to keep your feet on the ground and be prepared for lots of ups and downs. I'm not sure what's helped me sustain my career but I have tried to take everything on board along the way and just treat people well because it’s a very clicky industry and u want to have a good name.
What made you become interested in choreography and where do you get your inspiration from? When I was younger at stage school or with my friends I was always making up choreography and putting on shows and I think it has helped me find my own style of dance over the years and helped me improve. I get my inspiration from seeing others dance and it’s all about the music.
If you could work with anyone in the industry who would it be and why? I'd love to work with some American choreographers and dance for like Britney or Janet because their dancers are always amazing and they do wicked live shows.
If you had the chance to start your career all over again, would you do anything different?Nothing that I can think of differently, maybe worn some better clothes when I was in the band, coz I look back n cringe.
Do you have any words of wisdom you could share with our aspiring performers?Just keep going and believe in yourself. Work hard and you will be rewarded.
Fav Quote?Everything happens for a reason.
