Who Are We & What Are We Trying To Achieve:

Dance 4 Down Syndrome is a fundraising project which also aims to improve awareness about Down Syndrome in the community.  Dance 4 Down Syndrome is currently enrolling schools in a national dance-a-thon.  Participating students will be sponsored by friends and family to dance and raise money for carer organisations who supply the many resources needed by people with Down Syndrome across Australia.

The dance-a-thon can be held anytime within a two week period leading up to the 21st March, 2010.  This coincides nicely with the end of Term 1 and possibly your school’s Easter activities.  Many dance schools are planning to invite parents & friends to sit in on dance classes the week leading up to World Down Syndrome Day (21st March, 2010).  They will pass around a hat for gold coin donations & money raised over the course of the week will be donated to D4DS.

How to get involved:

If you would like to participate, please register your school TODAY at www.dance4downsyndrome.com.au.  More information, including teacher resource ideas, can be found http://www.dance4downsyndrome.com.au/dancing/dance-info.html.
