Queen Street Studio presents TOOKIT LAB 2012 with New York artists Barney O'Hanlon (SITI Company) and Laura Sheedy (The PIT)

From 6-17 February 2012, highly acclaimed New York based artists Barney O'Hanlon (SITI Company) and Laura Sheedy (The PIT) will lead a two-week physical training intensive workshop for performance-based artists, theatre and dance makers at FraserStudios in Chippendale.

TOOLKIT LAB 2012 will focus on the Viewpoints Training and Composition enabling performers, directors and dance makers to work together spontaneously and intuitively, and to create work quickly and inventively.

Following a hugely successful intensive performance lab with O'Hanlon and Sheedy earlier this year, TOOLKIT LAB 2012 furthers Queen Street Studio's commitment to the professional development of independent artists in Sydney and beyond.

SITI - founded in 1992 by Anne Bogart and Tadashi Suzuki - aims to offer new ways of seeing and of being as both artists and global citizens, with a focus on international cultural exchange and collaboration.

Queen Street Studio is proud to offer Sydney-based artists the rare chance to train with these dedicated and inspiring practitioners as part of TOOLKIT; their professional development program  designed to support independent artists.

Barney O'Hanlon has been collaborating with Anne Bogart since 1986 and has been a SITI Company member since 1994. His CV boasts a dynamic international career as an actor, dancer, choreographer and teacher.

FEEDBACK FROM TOOLKIT LAB 2011

"Being in something that was full-time was really valuable because it meant you could really focus on your craft and who you are as an artist, hit walls, break through them, I don't think that same opportunity would have been there if it was only a couple of hours a day." - Lara Lightfoot

"I loved every minute of the workshop" - Ryuichi Fujimura
