INFINITUM is a new performance work from award winning choreographer Gareth Hart and immersive sound artist Rod Price.
Textures of body, asphalt, brick and air collide to create a sound score created live from within the performance. A meeting of audio generative movement, glitch art theory, and realtime generative sound looping.
Existing in a continual feedback loop between body, sound and space, INFINITUM is constantly reborn within the context of its own immediate history.
The work was born out of fractured conversations between Price and Hart over the past two years.
Underneath this process is an enquiry into destabilising the hierarchy of ‘Dance Performance’ where a choreographer dictates the realm of sound design, which is created to support the choreography. This work is a continual feedback (feedforward?) loop, in which sound affects movement, which affects sound, which is created in response to sound.http://www.dancetrain.com.au/events/infinitum/ical/
