Georgie Girl dancewear started in June 2014 , I own a local dancewear store in Port Macquarie and what i found was that alot of my local customers were always looking for something different, something different from the normal known dance brands etc. These customers were looking and buying online mainly from the US and China.
So it got me thinking to keep my customers coming back to my store and to support local ,I needed to create something new and exciting here in Australia so I got together with my local and very experienced seamstress Pasty , who has been sewing and pattern making dancewear for over 15 years, and before we knew it Georgie Girl was created .
Georgie Girl is not a costume based range as we feel there are enough business out there who already do such a great job at costumes, we wanted it to be a fun, class /studio wear , we only use high quality supplex /lycra sourced here in Austalia , we will be bringing in some of our patterened fabric from overseas just because i want to keep it a little different, Georgie Girl is Australian designed and made and we are always looking at keeping it fresh with new colours and designs .We want our dance wear to be comfortable so we dont put elastic in underbust bands of the crop tops in children sizes up to Large as we have found most younger children dont like the tightness of the elastic and so far our feed back for this option has been really postive
We have had a great response since we started and the support locally has been amazing ,we have just branched out to re selling to other dance stores and we have also been picked up for dance studio uniforms.
You will find Georgie Girl @ First Class Dancewear in Townsville and Dance Trends Australia sydney and Dancedreams dancewear Port Macqaurie,Dance Your way Kangaroo flat Bendigo ,Gym N Dance Geraldton , Mahalo Interiors and Dance Kempsey, The Leotard online
Our aim is to offer high quality dancewear thats is fun ,fresh and dynamic.

GY Dance, aka GY Wiz Kidz, is one of Sydney’s leading studios. It has been established for 32 years in south western Sydney.
Glenda is well respected within the Dance Industry, having trained so many professional performers. She is founder and President of Project Dance Australia, an examiner with the A.D.A, a regular speaker at The Australian Dance Festival and one of the creators of the new, innovative Ready Set Dance pre-school program.
Students receive excellent technical training, but equally important is the mentoring program. Regular visits from The Squared Division, Marko Panzic, Kaylie Yee and other leading choreographers give students an insight into the Industry. This is invaluable in their transition.
The art of becoming an entertainer is so much more than being able to do steps to music. Learning to connect with an audience is part of the training. The GY Wiz Kidz regularly perform at functions around Sydney to hone this craft.
This year they opened the Sydney Latin Festival to a huge, supportive audience who gave them a standing ovation, and they were the opening act at the MO Awards.
It is this training that has lead some of the youngest students to roles in virtually every professional TV and musical production including Matilda, The Voice Kids, The King and I, Opera Australia and most recently Sound of Music.
GY graduates have travelled the world working at Universal Studios, Disneyland and on cruise ships. Our most notable success is Kaylie, living her dream as dancer for Britney Spears and other American pop stars.
Local successes this year are Lyndall Wennekes top 5 in The Voice, Daniel Assetta feature role in Cats and finalist for a Rob Guest award, Matt Antonucci in Lion King and Rechelle Mansour touring with Velvet.
They all prove that excellent guidance and training, a great work ethic and the right attitude make dreams come true.
